One afternoon, Annie invited her friends over to her house to play games. She had invited Kelly, Charlie, Peter and Lily over. Then Peter suggested that they play ball. The rest agreed. They had a lot of fun. Suddenly, when Annie wanted to throw the ball to Charlie, she accidentally aimed the ball the wrong direction and it hit her mother's favourite vase that she got from her best friend. "Oh no! My mum's vase is broken! How am I going to explain to my mother later on? She will be coning back in 10 minutes' time, and we will be never be able to replace this vase. It is a limited edition vase from Spain!" Annie was terrified as she knew it was her fault and she was afraid to face the music. They were deciding what to do when suddenly Annie's mother came back. "What's wrong children? All of you seem troubled." "Erm... Mum... Your vase... Is... Is..."Annie said, stammering. "MY VASE ?!! You broke it ?!! How could you, Annie?" "No mum, it's not me. It's Lily!" Annie's mother stared at Lily for a minute, feeling very angry. Then, she stormed into her room, banging the door behind her. Lily looked at Annie in tears, thinking why her friend could blame her when she was innocent. She walked out of the house, followed by the rest. Annie felt terrible inside. She knew she had done something wrong and blaming others. She slowly stepped into her mother's room and plucked up her courage to tell her mother the truth. She was expecting a scolding from her mother, but instead her mother praised her for being truthful. The next day in school, Lily gave Annie a new vase and said it was for her mother. Annie was touched and apologised to Lily. Annie explained the whole situation that happened yesterday and said that she had told her mother the truth already. From then on, they were very close friends.
